On the Central Court, the wild card pair of Alexandru Jecan and Bogdan Pavel fell to the team of N. Sriram Balaji and Neil Oberleitner in a dramatic match, 6-2, 1-6, 10-12.
The Romanians started superbly and took the first set, but their opponents fought back and forced a super tiebreak, where the difference came down to the finest of margins in a tense finale.

Pavel and Jecan saved the first four match points against them, but were unable to do so on the fifth.
Elsewhere, the favourites lived up to their billing. Top seeds Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, against Anirudh Chandrasekar and Takeru Yuzuki. Second seeds

Alexander Erler and Lucas Miedler also progressed in two sets, defeating Gonzalo Escobar and Marcus Willis, 6-3, 6-4.

One of the most entertaining matches of the day saw Constantin Frantzen and Robin Haase come from behind to beat Cleeve Harper and David Stevenson, 3-6, 6-1, 10-5. Another super tiebreak decided the outcome between Sander Gille / Sem Verbeek and Jakob Schnaitter / Mark Wallner, with Gille and Verbeek prevailing 0-6, 6-4, 11-9.

In the remaining match, Adam Pavlasek and Patrik Rikl defeated Ray Ho and Hendrik Jebens, 6-4, 6-4.

Following today's eliminations, Romania remains in the competition, and tomorrow brings a direct Romanian clash. Victor Cornea, alongside his partner Nuno Borges, will face Ștefan Horia Haita and Rareș Teodor Pieleanu — a match that guarantees at least one Romanian in the next round.

The ATP 250 Țiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank continues at the Simona Halep National Tennis Centre, with the matches growing ever more competitive as the tournament progresses.
