Mariano Navone wins his first ATP title in Bucharest
Argentina’s Mariano Navone claimed the singles trophy after an intense final against Spain’s Daniel Mérida, confirming a solid and mature run throughout the week. For Navone, the victory in Bucharest marks the first ATP title of his career.
During the award ceremony, the trophy and the Malvensky bracelet were presented by Virgil Șoncutean, CEO of Allianz-Țiriac. The prize money, worth over €93,000, was awarded by Mihaela Lupu, CEO of UniCredit Bank.
An important highlight of the ceremony was the speech delivered by Ion Ion Țiriac, who emphasized the importance of the tournament’s continuity for Romania. Alongside him, Alexandru Țiriac and Romanian tennis legend Ilie Năstase honored the event with their presence, adding a special significance to the closing ceremony of the 2026 edition in Bucharest.
Doumbia and Reboul, doubles champions once again
In the doubles event, the French pair Sadio Doumbia / Fabien Reboul claimed another title in Bucharest after defeating Adam Pavlasek / Patrik Rikl in the final.
For Doumbia and Reboul, this is their second title at the Țiriac Open, confirming their status as one of the most consistent teams on the doubles circuit.
The doubles winners were awarded 250 ATP points each and a prize of approximately €32,000 per team, presented by Mihaela Lupu, CEO of UniCredit Bank. During the ceremony, the Malvensky bracelets dedicated to the champions were handed over by Malvina Cervenchi.
